Available results, describing the occurring interference from distance measurement equipment (DME) in the so-called E5 and L5 frequency band, have been summarised. Furthermore, a methodology proposed by RTCA to characterise the impact of the interference on airborne navigation receivers in terms of SNR degradation was critically reviewed.
